MAD ASLI

Mad paling asas ialah Mad Tabi'e atau Mad Asli (مد طبيعي / أصلي) yang secara harfiahnya bermaksud "normal", "seperti biasa". Mad ini ialah apabila huruf dengan fatḥah, ḍammah, kasrah bertemu dengan huruf maddah sakinah (alif, yāʼ atau wāw yang bertanda mati/sukun). Walau bagaimanapun, tanda sukun tersebut lazimnya tidak ditandakan bagi al-Quran resam Uthmani cetakan moden atau digantikan dengan tanda huruf kecil pada huruf yang perlu dipanjangkan).
