Conjunction are words that are used to join words, phrases or sentences together.

- AND
- It is used to join words and phrases of the same kind
- Example: Lisa likes to watch comedies AND listen to pop songs.
- It can be used to join two sentences
- Example: Peter went to town AND bought a new tie.

OR
- It is used to connect two or more choices. The listener would have to choose one of the options
- Example: We can go there on foot OR by car.

BUT
1.It is used to join ideas that are opposite or different
2.Example: That girl is pretty, BUT she is so vain
3. Sometimes, the pronouns in the second clause can be left out
4. Example: Lim eats a lot, but (he) never gets fat

- It is used to show the result of an action
- example: He did not study, so he couldn't answer the examination questions
