• Helps us to prioritize what is important from what is not

• Keeps us on track

• Motivates us to achieve

Why don't we set goals?

• Sometimes we do not think goals are important

• We do not know how to set goals

• We are scared or fear failure

• We fear we might be rejected

State what you will do!

Use Action Words!

M- Measurable

Create a clear path to evaluate your growth

Use Metrics or Data

Example: I will read every night for 30 minutes.

A- Achievable

What steps can you take to achieve your goal?

Does your goal relate to what you want to accomplish?

Is it possible to accomplish or attain?

R-Realistic

How will meeting the goal help you?

Example: By reading every 30 minutes everyday I will be able to achieve a higher reading level!

T-Time-Bound

State when you will get it done

Be specific on the date and timeframe

Example: By reading 30 minutes everyday for the next 2 weeks I will be able to achieve a higher reading level!
