over the past few days. The forecast from CAMS

(Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS)—a

week, and that it’s still on track to become the smallest

hole seen in 30 years, said Antje Inness-Scientist.

Gases called CFS ( Chloro-fluorocarbon ) caused the problems with the ozone layer.

CFCs are man-made. They were used in

air-conditioners, refrigerators and aerosol cans.

CFCs rise up high into the atmosphere. They react with

ozone and break it down.

Pollution means adding harmful things to the environment.

Ozone is gas found in a layer high up in the atmosphere. It protects us from the ultraviolet radiation.

CFC's have damaged the ozone layer over the antarctic, but are now banned and the ozone layer is recovering.
