In most hot deserts, the wind has blown sand away , leaving pebbles or even bare rock.

Few animals live in the desert.

Animals in a desert get water from the food they eat.

Most animals sleep during the day and come out only at night when it is cooler.

Best known desert animal is a camel. It can go along time without water. It can loose about one-third of the weight of its body and still live. It can drink up to 115 Litres or more in a few minutes ones it find water.
