Today you’ll learn more about empathy. First, let’s try an experiment. An image will be shown to you. Simply respond with what you see.

Look at the image. Be prepared to respond with which two colors you believe the dress is.

Things can look or feel different from different perspectives. Thinking about how others see a situation helps you have empathy for them.  Empathy is feeling or understanding what someone else is feeling.

Remember this photo and what happened. Each child had a different perspective on the same situation. The boys found it funny, but the girls didn't.

• If the boys understood the girls' perspective and had empathy for them, do you think they would change their behavior? How?
