Many people have seen Killer Whales at Sea World doing tricks to entertain people and a few have seen some killer whales act out. However, what you may not know, is that many of these tricks have been taught in order for the vet to examine the diffrent parts of the whale to keep the whale healthy.
Sea World is required to weigh its Orca Whales on a regular basis and always feeds the whales wether they perform or not. Whales are only trained with positive reinforcement at Sea World. It is not Sea World staff that chooses which whales will perform at each show. That is up to the head female whale.
