Deserts can be very hot and dry biomes. The sun is very intense and there is not a lot of water.

During winter these deserts get little rainfall. Rain is often light, or in short concentrated bursts.

Deserts plants have many adaptations to survive in such a dry environment. They are good at storing and finding water.

To live in the desert animals need to overcome the heat and lack of rain.
