Why is Florida important to the space research?

The Space Age began in the late 1950s

It was between the United States and Russia

Sputnick was the first ARTIFICIAL SATILITE in Space it was made by RUSSIA

Why do you think it was so important to Russia and the United States to be the first on the moon?

The Apollo program was established to send people to the Moon.

Apollo 11 was the first mission to land on the moon

Neil Armstrong was the first man to step on the moon

The space age began in Florida at Cape Canaveral.

All of the moon missions were launched from the Florida coast.

NASA is located at Kennedy Space Center

One of the main buildings at the Space Center is the Vehicle Assembly Building .

Hundreds of rockets have been built here.

Lots of jobs working for NASA but all of those jobs also created lots of other jobs to feed, house, etc. those who work at a NASA

NASA also brings in lots of visitors which creates more for the economoy.

More visitors & jobs = more $$$
