Instrumental Case

add -ом in most cases (стол - столом; брат - братом)

add -eм to masculine nouns ending in -ь or -й (or -ём if the stress is on the end). Thus: учитель - учителем; словарь - словарём

Those ending in ж, ц, ч, ш and щ have the instrumental in -ом if the stress is on the last syllable, or -ем if the stress is not on the last syllable. (нож - ножом; товарищь - товарищем)

change -a ending of the nominative to -ой in instrumental. Thus, сестра - сестрой; вода - водой

If the last consonant of the stem is ж, ц, ч, ш, щ, then the ending will be -ей (ученица - ученицей)

nouns ending in -я have instrumental in -ей (Оля - Олей)

Feminine nouns in -ь simply add -ю (мышь - мышью)

change ending -o into -ом

change ending -е into -ем

change ending -ём into -ём

Thus: окно - окном, здание - зданием, ружьё - ружьём

заниматься (Я занимаюсь спортом)

интересоваться (Я интересуюсь модой)

работать (Он работает доктором)

пользоваться (Я пользуюсь компьютером)

увлекаться (Мой друг увлекается футболом)

гордиться (Я горжусь братом!)

становиться (Я стал учителем)

казаться (Я кажусь инженером)
