This presentation will take you through the very basics of notation - hopefully you remember some of it!

The staff
Music is written out on a STAVE or STAFF which have 5 lines and 4 spaces
The height of the note changes it's pitch - it's that simple

Treble Clef
This is the treble clef
It used to be a fancy 'g'
The note G is on the line it wraps around

Treble Clef Line notes
These are the notes that sit on the lines for the treble clef
One way of remembering the notes is the phrase 'Every Good Boy Deserves Football' - you have to remember this from BOTTOM to TOP!

Treble Clef Space notes
These are the notes as they appear in the spaces, from BOTTOM to TOP
They spell out the word FACE so you can remember FACE in the SPACE

Treble clef ledger lines
Ledger lines are what we use when we run out of space
Every time you go up or down one line it changes the note name
