Comma Rules
When joining simple, complete sentences, place a comma before the conjunction

Rules #1: Put a comma before the FANBOYS when they connect two independent clauses
Rules #2: If the first sentence has 5 or fewer words you may choose to omit the comma

- Sam drank some water, for he was thirsty.
- I take milk and sugar in my tea.
- Sara doesn’t like apples, nor does she like pears.
- All the children wanted to eat pizza, but no one wanted to buy it.
- We could go to the zoo, or we could go to the theme park.
- The weather was cold and wet, yet we enjoyed it very much
- He is sick, so he is not going to school.
