Students will differentiate between biotic and abiotic factors

Students will learn about the factors that impact population

Density independent factors- things that happens regardless of population size- a. weather, b. natural disasters- tornadoes, hurricanes, fires. c. Human activities- hunting, deforestation

Density dependent factors- This are factors that impact a population because of its size. Ex. Disease, competition, parasitism, predation

Abiotic-Non living ex. sunlight, water, sand, rocks, air

Biotic- Living things. Ex. Plants, you, insects, lizards, coyotes, bacteria etcetera

We covered biotic and abiotic factors, population distribution and looked at different factors that affect population distribution
