El verbo "SER"

A verb is an action word.

It describes an action that someone or a group of people are doing.

Some examples of English verbs we use every day...

To run

To talk

To eat

To sleep

Pronouns are words that take the place of nouns.

SUBJECT PRONOUNS indicate who is being described or who does the action in the sentence.

Instead of saying "Marcos and Juan", you could just say: "they"

Instead of saying "my brothers and I", you could just say: "we"

Instead of saying "you, Benito, and Maria", you could just say: "you all"

Instead of saying "Caterina" or "Rodrigo", you could just say: "he" or "she"

In English, we don't really conjugate our verbs.

We walk

WALK doesn't really change regardless of who is doing the action.

In Spanish, we MUST conjugate to differentiate more clearly WHO is doing the verb.

We can use "de" to talk about where someone is FROM.

Daniela y Sonia son de Miami --> Daniela and Sonia are from Miami.

Martin es de Honduras --> Martin is from Honduras

Nosotros somos de los Estados Unidos --> We are from the U.S.
