Open a new Chrome tab

Click on the Google apps "waffle" icon

Scroll down and click the NoodleTools icon

Always use your Richland 2 Google account

Setup your account by choosing your location - Blythewood High School

Verify that you are creating a student account.

Click Create Account.

Click the green New Project button on the top left side of the screen.

Give your project a title using your teacher's name, course name and description of assignment.

Example: Hardy Biology 2 Research

Choose the citation style - APA for this project

Choose the citation level - Junior for this project

Click submit.

Type in your research question.

Under the Sharing and Collaboration section, click the blue icon that says "Share with a project inbox"

Type your teacher's name

Choose the appropriate class

Click Done

If you are working in a group, only one group member needs to create the project. Share it with other students by entering their emails under Student Collaboration.

Click the Sources icon in the middle at the top of the screen.

Click the green New Source icon to start a new citation.

Clicking the tabs of the different source types will give you more specific choices.

For example, choose Website, then choose Web Page if you're citing a website that you found using Google's search engine.

Enter that you can for your source like the URL, the author, the title, etc.

If you cannot find some information, that is ok. Enter as much as you can.

Go to our library website

Click the Research tab

Note the username/password document just in case you need it

Click the DISCUS icon/link

Click A-Z list

Scroll down until you see Gale in Context: Opposing Viewpoints

Click the title to see a description of the database

Click the icon to open the database

Browse Issues listed by scrolling down

Enter the keywords from your research question

Results are categorized by type - viewpoints, news, magazines, images, audio, etc.

Scroll through your results and click an item to open it

Listen to the article as you read

Send the citation to Noodletools

Save the article to Google Drive

Get a permanent link back to the article

Choose the style you want (MLA, APA, Chicago)

Click Export To NoodleTools

Choose your project name from NoodleTools

Click Import References
