Riverdale is a dramatic American TV series based on characters from Archie Comics. The series received a production order from broadcaster The CW, and premiered on January 26, 2017. The series was adapted for The CW by Archie Comics creative director Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and is produced by Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions and Archie Comics. Originally designed as a Warner Bros. film adaptation. Pictures, the idea was reinvented as a Fox television series. In 2015, the development of the project went to CW, where the series was commissioned for a pilot. Filming takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia.

The small, quiet town of Riverdale turns upside down when it is struck by the mysterious death of Jason Blossom, a popular high school boy and a member of the city's most powerful family. Archie Andrews, BettyCooper, Veronica Lodge, Jughead Jones, Cheryl Blossom, Kevin Keller, Josie Mccoy and their friends explore the problems of everyday life in the small town while investigating the Jason Blossom case. But, to solve this mystery, the group of friends must discover the secrets that are buried in the depths of the city, because Riverdale may not be as innocent as it seems.
