The Water Cycle is the continuous process by which water moves from Earth’s surface to the atmosphere and back.

Evaporation – The process where molecules of liquid water absorb energy and change to the gas state.

Condensation – The process where a gas changes back to liquid water.

Precipitation – As water condenses in the clouds, they get heavier and drops fall back to the Earth in the form of rain, snow, sleet, or hail.

The Carbon-Oxygen Cycle is the process where carbon and oxygen are recycled by producers (plants) and consumers (animals). 

Producers use the carbon from the carbon dioxide in the air produced by consumers. In the process of photosynthesis, producers make food using carbon, sunlight, and water to obtain energy. Producers give off oxygen as a waste product.

Free Nitrogen – Nitrogen that is not combined with other kinds of atoms.
Consumers use the oxygen in the air produced by plants (producers) and give off carbon dioxide and water as a waste.
