Soh Cah Toa

Soh Cah Toa is a mnemonic for remembering the definitions of the sine, cosine, and tangent ratios in a right triangle: Sine = Opposite/Hypotenuse (Soh), Cosine = Adjacent/Hypotenuse (Cah), Tangent = Opposite/Adjacent (Toa).

The sine ratio is defined as the length of the opposite side divided by the length of the hypotenuse in a right triangle.

The cosine ratio is defined as the length of the adjacent side divided by the length of the hypotenuse in a right triangle.

The tangent ratio is defined as the length of the opposite side divided by the length of the adjacent side in a right triangle.
