Functions Test Review

A function is a relation that assigns exactly one output (y) for each input (x).

The domain is the set of all possible input values (x) for a function.

The range is the set of all possible output values (y) that a function can produce.

To find the range, substitute the domain values into the function and determine the resulting y values.

An open circle indicates that the value does not include that number (use < or >).

A closed circle indicates that the value includes that number (use ≤ or ≥).

To evaluate a function at a specific point, substitute the value of x into the function and solve for y.
