Trigonometry- Right Angle Triangles

The Sine Ratio is defined as the ratio of the length of the opposite side to the length of the hypotenuse. Formula: Sine(θ) = Opposite/Hypotenuse.

The Tangent Ratio is defined as the ratio of the length of the opposite side to the length of the adjacent side. Formula: Tangent(θ) = Opposite/Adjacent.

The Cosine Ratio is defined as the ratio of the length of the adjacent side to the length of the hypotenuse. Formula: Cosine(θ) = Adjacent/Hypotenuse.

The Pythagorean Theorem states that in a right triangle, the square of the length of the hypotenuse (c) is equal to the sum of the squares of the lengths of the other two sides (a and b). Formula: a² + b² = c².

The Pythagorean Theorem ONLY applies to right triangles.

To find the hypotenuse (c), use the formula: c = √(a² + b²), where a and b are the lengths of the other two sides.

Sine(θ) = Opposite/Hypotenuse = 7/25.

Cosine(θ) = Adjacent/Hypotenuse = 24/25.

Tangent(θ) = Opposite/Adjacent = 7/24.

In a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the squares of the other two sides (Pythagorean Theorem).
