Circuits, Diodes, Switches, and LEDs

A circuit is a closed loop that allows electric current to flow, consisting of a power source, conductors, and components.

In a series circuit, components are connected one after another, and the same current flows through all. In a parallel circuit, components are connected across common points, and each has its own path for current.

If one component fails in a series circuit, the entire circuit stops working because the current cannot flow.

If one component fails in a parallel circuit, the other components continue to work because they have separate paths for current.

A diode is a semiconductor device that allows current to flow in one direction only, converting AC to DC.

An LED (Light Emitting Diode) is a type of diode that emits light when current flows through it.

An open circuit is a circuit that is not complete, meaning there is a break in the path, preventing current from flowing.

A closed circuit is a complete circuit that allows current to flow without interruption.

A switch is a device that can open or close a circuit, controlling the flow of electricity.

A resistor is a component that limits the flow of electric current, providing resistance.
