Circuits

A circuit is a closed path through which electric current flows. It consists of a power source, conductors, and a load.

The two main types of circuits are series circuits and parallel circuits.

A series circuit is a circuit where all components are connected in a single path, so the current flows through one component to get to the next.

A parallel circuit is a circuit where components are connected across common points or junctions, allowing multiple paths for the current to flow.

A conductor is a material that allows electric current to flow through it easily, such as copper or aluminum.

An insulator is a material that does not allow electric current to flow through it easily, such as rubber or glass.

A switch is a device that can open or close a circuit, controlling the flow of electricity.

A load is any device that uses electrical energy to perform work, such as a light bulb or a motor.

If one component fails in a series circuit, the entire circuit is broken and all components stop working.

If one component fails in a parallel circuit, the other components can still operate because there are multiple paths for the current.
