A consumer population is a population that eats organisms from another population.

This is called competition.

A population is a group of the same type of organism living in the same area.

Competition is when organisms fight for resources necessary for survival, such as food, water, space, light, or mates.

A producer is an organism that can make its own food, typically through photosynthesis.

A predator is an organism that hunts and eats other organisms.

Prey is an organism that is hunted and eaten by predators.

Mutualism is a relationship between two organisms where both benefit from the interaction.

Parasitism is a relationship where one organism benefits at the expense of another.
