Use 'although' to express contrast, e.g., 'Although it was raining...'

Indirect questions should not use the auxiliary verb at the beginning, e.g., 'I wonder where he is.'

Do not use 'but' after 'although'; it is redundant.

The correct form is 'was' or 'were' depending on the subject.
